Where Experienced Teachers, Real Labs, and Outstanding Results Meet You

Chandra Man Maharjan, Academic Director at Samriddhi School, explains how SEE graduates can choose their Plus Two subjects and institutions wisely. He urges students to align their subject selection with their personal capacity, interests, and future goals, rather than yielding to pressure from parents or friends. Maharjan highlights Samriddhi School’s management-focused programmes, experienced faculty, well-equipped practical laboratories, strong NEB results, career guidance service, Skill Lab partnership, free online courses, and extracurricular activities. He maintains that Plus Two is a decisive foundation for higher study, global competition, and holistic development, and that the right stream and college should therefore be chosen only after careful evaluation and honest self-reflection by every student and guardian.

College Readers: SEE students are currently awaiting their results and searching for good Plus Two colleges. What should they understand first?

Chandra Man Maharjan: First and foremost, students should assess their own capacity and goals honestly. Grades Eleven and Twelve are not merely another level of schooling; they open the route to future professions. Students should therefore choose subjects that support their long-term aspirations. In Nepal, several streams are available, including management, science, humanities, and law, and a student’s personal interest must receive the highest priority. Once that is clear, the institution itself should be examined carefully. Students and guardians should consider whether the college offers proper infrastructure, experienced teachers, practical facilities, and consistent performance in examinations conducted by the National Examination Board. Such careful deliberation protects students from trend-driven decisions and aligns their learning with a career they can sincerely pursue with confidence.

College Readers: To what extent can students find these qualities at Samriddhi School?

Chandra Man Maharjan: Samriddhi School is well-prepared to provide these essential qualities. We primarily offer courses within the management stream, including hotel management, computer science, economics, and business studies. For each of these subjects, we have experienced teachers and the necessary practical laboratories. Our teaching is not confined to lectures; we place strong emphasis on practical learning, because students grasp concepts far better when they can connect theory with real-life situations. In terms of results, Samriddhi has consistently achieved excellent outcomes in NEB examinations. A student who joins us should expect not merely academic completion, but holistic development. Our aim is to prepare students to compete confidently in a global environment once they have completed Plus Two.

College Readers: Students often arrive with dreams, and parents bring their own expectations. What additional facilities does Samriddhi provide to support those dreams?

Chandra Man Maharjan: Many students enrol in Grade Eleven without fully understanding why they have chosen a particular subject. Often, they have simply followed their friends, succumbed to family pressure, or been influenced by social trends. To address this uncertainty, Samriddhi operates a career guidance service in collaboration with our Skill Lab. Through this service, students can explore their potential, interests, and suitable career paths. We employ guidance activities and assessment-based approaches to help them understand where their strengths may lead them. This is crucial, because a sound decision at the outset can save years of uncertainty later. Beyond the NEB curriculum, students can also access more than 150 online courses through the Skill Lab at no additional cost. These courses support their future planning and skill development. A student interested in business, technology, hospitality, leadership, or communication, for instance, can acquire additional skills alongside their regular classes. We further conduct extracurricular and co-curricular activities, which help bring out hidden talents, build confidence, foster teamwork, and contribute to the overall personality development of learners.

College Readers: Why is career guidance so essential at the Plus Two level?

Chandra Man Maharjan: At this age, students are energetic, curious, and ambitious, yet many remain uncertain about their direction. If they select a subject without first understanding themselves, they often lose motivation along the way. Career guidance helps them weigh their interests, abilities, and the opportunities available to them. It does not push them into any single field; rather, it equips them with information and confidence. A student who clearly understands why he or she is studying a particular subject typically becomes more serious, disciplined, and purposeful in their work.

College Readers: Some guardians still believe that children must study science, biology, mathematics, or physics in order to succeed. What is your view?

Chandra Man Maharjan: Parents should certainly guide their children, but undue pressure can be harmful. In today’s world, success is possible in a wide range of fields. Rather than insisting that every child must study science, parents should ask what their child’s real strengths are and what he or she genuinely wishes to pursue. If a student has both interest and potential in management, hotel management, computer science, law, humanities, or any other discipline, that path can be equally meaningful. Education becomes truly productive when it aligns with the learner’s nature. Subjects chosen under pressure often produce stress, poor performance, and confusion.

College Readers: What advice would you give directly to students?

Chandra Man Maharjan: Students should not choose a college or subject merely because their friends are going there. They should not enrol in an institution simply because it is fashionable, nor should they pick subjects that go against their own interests. They must ask themselves three honest questions: What do I enjoy? What am I good at? Which institution can best support my chosen subject and my potential? Only after answering these questions clearly should they seek admission to an institution where their goals and abilities can grow together.
