PABSON Elects New Leadership, Prioritizes Education Bill and Quality Enhancement in Private Schools

Kathmandu, 12th March: Newly elected President of the Private and Boarding Schools’ Association of Nepal (PABSON), Krishna Prasad Adhikari, has pledged to address key issues in the education sector effectively. During his tenure, Adhikari aims to enhance the quality of education in PABSON-affiliated schools and ensure their recognition as exemplary institutions both nationally and globally.

Adhikari emphasized that private schools have played a significant role in improving Nepal’s education sector. He reiterated PABSON’s stance that schools should operate as lifelong companies, ensuring continuity and stability in their operations. He also highlighted the international recognition of Nepal’s private schools for providing high-quality education and stressed the need to sustain and globalize this reputation.

The recently introduced education bill by the government remains a top priority for PABSON. Adhikari stated, "Our primary focus is the education bill. Our schools must remain within the company structure. We became part of the company system in 2058 BS, and this must continue. Our second priority is the curriculum and the quality of education. We are committed to providing high-quality education in this country, and the reputation of Nepal's private schools is recognized worldwide. We aim to sustain and globalize this reputation."

He further added, "Our third priority is to transform the 5,000 private schools under PABSON into exemplary institutions, ensuring quality education for students, teachers, and parents alike." Adhikari also addressed other concerns, including high taxes on educational materials, which he plans to discuss with the government.

Adhikari was unanimously elected as the president during PABSON's 16th National Convention. Other key appointments include Gopal Acharya as Co-President, Deepika Rimal Thapa as Senior Vice President, Sangita Silwal Ayer, Santosh Mani Neupane, Ashish Shrestha, Kishor Gautam and Thakin Gurung as Vice Presidents, RB Katwal as General Secretary, Buban Lal Shrestha and Bhimsen KC as Deputy General Secretaries, and Ganesh Babu Pokharel as Treasurer.

The newly elected executive committee was welcomed by outgoing president DK Dhungana. Adhikari expressed gratitude for the peaceful and efficient election process, stating, "The election was conducted in a very peaceful and organized manner. Competent colleagues have been elected, and even those who were not elected were equally capable."

PABSON’s new leadership is committed to advancing Nepal’s education sector, focusing on policy advocacy, quality enhancement, and global recognition of private schools.
