LRI School Marks 38th Annual Day with Grand Celebration, Honors Distinguished Educators and Social Contributors

Kathmandu — LRI School celebrated its 38th Annual Day with a series of vibrant academic, social, and cultural programs, reaffirming its longstanding commitment to quality education, leadership development, and social responsibility. The grand event not only showcased students’ talents but also honored distinguished personalities from across Nepal who have made remarkable contributions to the education sector and society.

As part of the celebration, the school recognized eminent educationists from different parts of the country with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each, acknowledging their outstanding roles in advancing education, strengthening school management, training teachers, and fostering holistic student development.
This year’s honorees included Udim Pant from Kavre; Padam Singh Kuwar and Premnidhi Ojha from Kailali; Bholanath Ojha from Lalitpur; Anumodan K.C. from Kathmandu; and Kiran Sapkota from Pokhara, Kaski. The school stated that the award aimed to appreciate their dedication and inspire continued excellence in the education sector. According to LRI, such recognition programs serve as motivation for individuals devoted to educational reform and innovation.
In a significant gesture promoting inclusive education, Green Tara Child Haven School, located in Gokarneshwor Municipality–9, was awarded the “Yashodhara Pant Education Award,” carrying a cash prize of Rs. 300,000. The school was honored for its notable contribution to educating children with disabilities and integrating them into mainstream education. LRI School highly evaluated Green Tara’s sustained efforts in providing quality learning opportunities to children with special needs, describing the award as an example of meaningful social responsibility in action.
The event also recognized excellence beyond academics. Kumar Rai, operator of Diamond Sports Academy, was honored with the “Lokendra Bahadur Chand Award,” along with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, for his significant contribution to sports development. Rai was acknowledged for promoting discipline, physical fitness, and leadership among young people through sports training and mentorship.
Similarly, senior journalist Ishwor Dhakal was honored with the same award in recognition of his long-standing contribution to journalism. Jeetendra Ghimire, founder and CEO of College Readers, was also presented with the Lokendra Bahadur Chand Award for his contribution to educational publishing and the promotion of reading culture. The awards underscored the school’s broader vision of recognizing excellence across diverse sectors that contribute to educational and social advancement.
Internally, LRI School also honored its outstanding teachers and staff members with cash prizes and certificates, acknowledging their dedication and professional excellence. The school expressed confidence that such recognition would boost morale, strengthen commitment, and encourage continued high performance among its workforce.
In addition, students who achieved exceptional academic results throughout the academic year were awarded cash prizes and certificates. The initiative aims to inspire students to pursue their studies with greater discipline, hard work, and determination.

The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Achyut Prasad Wagle, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of quality education rooted in research, innovation, and ethical values. Praising LRI School’s initiatives, he noted that education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge but the foundation of nation-building. He encouraged students to grow into creative, responsible, and competitive citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
