New Committee Elected for HISSAN Bagmati Under the Leadership of Raj Kumar Acharya

Kathmandu, March 20: The Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools' Association Nepal (HISSAN) Bagmati Province successfully conducted its 2nd convention at Dusit Princess, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, on March 19 (Chaitra 6). The event was graced by Sports Minister Teju Lal Chaudhary as the chief guest. During the convention, a new executive committee was unanimously elected under the leadership of President Raj Kumar Acharya.
The newly elected committee includes Anand Kumar Yadav and Sandeep Shrestha as Vice-Presidents, Madan Kumar Subedi as Secretary, Jayaram Wagley as Treasurer, and Ramesh Ghimire as Joint Secretary. Additionally, 16 members were elected to the executive committee: Bddhiram Banjade, Nandu Kushwaha, Barun Panthi, RD Bhatta, Sudarshan Jamakatel, Hritu Neupane, Hom Bahadur Adhikari, Laxman Pokharel, Peshal Luitel, Akash Poudel, Bishnu Sharma, Raju Kattel, Ram Prasad Badal, Sushil Khanal, Saroj Maharjan, and Netra Prasad Bhusal.
The oath of office was administered by Central HISSAN Vice President Dr. Swagat Shrestha, while Ram Hari Silwal, another Vice President of Central HISSAN, hosted the second session of the convention.
In his address, Sports Minister Teju Lal Chaudhary emphasized the importance of private-sector investment in the education sector. He revealed that he had lobbied with the government to include provisions for private sector security in the education bill currently under discussion in parliament. He assured HISSAN of his support, stating, “HISSAN should play a vital role in this implementation, and I am with you and ready to support.”
Ramesh Kumar Silwal, President of Central HISSAN, expressed optimism about the education bill being passed soon and urged school and college founders not to fear the changes. Senior Vice President Yuvraj Sharma also delivered a speech, extending his best wishes to the new committee.
The outgoing HISSAN Bagmati President, Bhawani Prasad Paudel, chaired the first formal session, sharing the accomplishments of his tenure. Outgoing Secretary Anand Kumar Yadav hosted the program.
The newly elected committee is expected to lead HISSAN Bagmati in advancing the interests of private educational institutions and addressing key issues in the education sector.
