Lalitpur, October 3: The third International Conference on Innovation in Computing, Science, Engineering and Technology (ICICSET 2026) has begun at the Royal Tulip Hotel in Gwarko, Lalitpur, bringing together researchers and members of the academic community to share knowledge and discuss developments across four interconnected fields.
Organized by Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT), the conference aims to promote scientific knowledge, technological innovation and international academic collaboration. It provides a common platform for participants to exchange research findings and experiences while exploring recent achievements and future possibilities in computing, science, engineering and technology.

Three Senior Academic Leaders Jointly Inaugurate Conference
The conference was jointly inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane, Vice-Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST); Prof. Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal, former Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University; and Prof. Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Planning and Development at Sarala Birla University in Ranchi, India.
Prof. Dr. Singh also serves as Chairman of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Jharkhand. The three academic leaders delivered congratulatory remarks and goodwill messages during the opening ceremony.
Their participation brought together representatives with leadership experience in science and technology, university education and academic development. The joint inauguration marked the opening of an event focused on research exchange and engagement among institutions and the wider academic community.

Researchers from Eight Countries Participate
ICICSET 2026 has drawn participation from eight countries: Nepal, India, China, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Australia and Malaysia. This international representation supports the conference’s stated objective of encouraging academic collaboration across national boundaries.
The event brings researchers working in computing, science, engineering and technology onto a shared platform. Its scope allows participants to exchange perspectives across these disciplines and consider how developments in one field may inform research in another.
For NCIT, the conference provides an opportunity to convene the academic community around current research and technological developments. The organizers have identified knowledge sharing, the exchange of experiences and international academic cooperation as central aims of the gathering.
Forty-six of 97 Research Papers Selected for Publication
According to the organizers, 97 research papers were submitted to the conference, of which 46 have been selected for publication. The selected papers account for approximately 47 percent of the total submissions.
The papers will be published in a peer-reviewed journal, and their online versions will be made available through journal.ncit.edu.np, the organizers said. Publication will make the selected research accessible beyond the conference and allow readers to consult the work after the event.

The conference combines international participation with a publication component, linking academic exchange at the gathering with the wider dissemination of research. Through these activities, ICICSET 2026 seeks to advance its stated goals of promoting research, sharing scientific knowledge and strengthening collaboration in computing, science, engineering and technology.
