Miniland School Hosts International Folk Cultural Festival 2026 in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nepal — The International Folk Cultural Festival 2026, organized by Miniland English Secondary School in collaboration with Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, concluded successfully after a vibrant five-day celebration of global culture and artistic exchange.

The festival was held from April 7 to April 11, 2026, bringing together artists and cultural representatives from India, Bangladesh, South Korea, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, and Nepal. Some European groups withdrew at the last moment due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, organizers said.

The event aimed to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and international friendship among participating countries.

The festival opened with a colorful cultural rally that began from the school premises. International performers, Nepali cultural groups, scouts, teachers, and students took part in the procession, which received a warm welcome from the local community and concerned authorities.

Addressing the formal session, Mayor Upendra Karki, School Chairman and Festival Director Dr. Jayaram Wagle, and Principal Maniram Wagle, among other distinguished guests, highlighted the importance of such international cultural gatherings.

Mayor Karki said programs of this kind help elevate the municipality’s identity on the international stage while also fostering cultural awareness among the younger generation.

Dr. Jayaram Wagle, the festival coordinator and school chairman, said the event offered students a valuable opportunity to develop a global outlook, deepen respect for diverse cultures, and showcase Nepal before an international audience. He also expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the festival.

Principal Maniram Wagle said such events enrich the academic environment of the school and help bring out students’ talents beyond the classroom.

Throughout the festival, artists from different countries presented traditional dances, music, and cultural performances representing their respective nations, drawing strong interest and appreciation from the audience.

The festival concluded with the presentation of trophies, certificates, and honors to participating artists and delegates. The organizers also thanked Kageshwari Manohara Municipality for its support and pledged to continue promoting cultural education and international friendship through similar events in the future.
