HISSAN Bagmati Honors Academic Excellence, Unveils Calendar, and Celebrates New Year in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, April 13, 2026 — HISSAN Bagmati Province organized a grand program titled “HISSAN Bagmati Calendar Release and New Year Greetings Exchange” at Hotel Pauwa, Pinglasthan, Kathmandu on April 12, bringing together distinguished education leaders and stakeholders from across the province.
The event was marked by the official release of the HISSAN Bagmati Calendar and a special felicitation ceremony honoring two prominent figures in Nepal’s academic sector. Prof. Dr. Swagat Shrestha, who was recently promoted to the rank of Professor at Tribhuvan University, and Bhawani Prasad Paudel, who was recently nominated as a Member of the Academic Council of Tribhuvan University, were both honored for their notable achievements and contributions to higher education.
Prof. Dr. Swagat Shrestha, the Senior Vice President of Central HISSAN and Chairperson of Kathmandu Valley School & College, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Likewise, Raj Kumar Acharya, President of HISSAN Bagmati Province, chaired the program.

Speaking at the program, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Swagat Shrestha highlighted the current challenges faced by educational institutions, particularly in the student admission process, and said that despite the government’s unfavorable stance, HISSAN has stepped forward to address the situation in a professional and organized manner.

Similarly, HISSAN General Secretary Ram Hari Silwal stated that HISSAN has established itself as a trustworthy organization and stressed the need for stronger coordination with PABSON, N-PABSAN, and other educational institutions and organizations. He expressed confidence that HISSAN would continue to play a leading role among educational organizations in the country.
Bhawani Prasad Paudel, Secretary of Central HISSAN and Campus Chief of Jaya Multiple Campus, emphasized that since school education falls under the jurisdiction of local governments, they should exercise their authority in managing school-level activities for the benefit of students and guardians. He also stressed that the contribution of private boarding schools should be duly recognized and prioritized, and that a conducive environment should be created for the admission process and the timely commencement of the academic year.
On the occasion, several HISSAN leaders also extended New Year greetings, including Vice President Dr. Rishi Tiwari, Kathmandu District President Gopi Raj Parajuli, and Kathmandu Metro President Mahesh Shrestha.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Chairperson Raj Kumar Acharya said that the tradition of publishing the HISSAN calendar had begun during the tenure of Bhawani Prasad Paudel, and reaffirmed HISSAN Bagmati’s commitment to strengthening and expanding its activities in the coming New Year.
The program began with a welcome speech by Ananda Kumar Yadav, Vice President of HISSAN Bagmati Province, while Secretary Madan Subedi emceed the event. The formal session was followed by a reception party, adding a festive touch to the New Year celebration.
The event reflected HISSAN Bagmati’s continued dedication to academic leadership, institutional unity, and the promotion of excellence in the education sector.
