Hritu Neupane, the energetic CEO of Triton SS & College, presents Triton as an institution shaped by vision, accessibility, and academic continuity. From Plus Two programmes under the National Examinations Board to bachelor’s and master’s courses affiliated with Tribhuvan University, she explains how the college has become a trusted academic centre in Kathmandu for aspiring students and families.
Neupane emphasizes affordable quality education supported by smart boards, laboratories, entrance preparation, scholarships, parent communication, and career counselling. She urges SEE graduates to select their subject and college thoughtfully, considering interest, ability, discipline, infrastructure, family guidance, financial reality, and long-term academic goals with confidence, clarity, purpose, maturity, and preparation.
Looking back at Triton’s founding objectives, how much progress has the college made in achieving them?
Triton SS & College was established in 1999 by academicians and teaching professionals with national and international exposure. Their vision was clear: to develop Triton as one of Kathmandu Valley’s leading institutions while providing quality education at moderate fees from Plus Two to master’s level. I believe that vision has been substantially achieved. Today, from our Tinkune campus, we run NEB-affiliated Plus Two programmes in Science, Management, Law, and Humanities, along with Tribhuvan University-affiliated BCA, BBS, BSW, and MBS programmes. As a sister concern of DV Education Network, Triton has built a strong identity through academic results, infrastructure, discipline, and community trust. However, education is never a completed mission. Every year we must renew our commitment to affordability, quality, and student success.
How is Triton SS & College using modern technology to make classroom teaching and student learning more effective in today’s digital age?
We have tried to make technology a daily part of learning, not merely a decorative facility. Our college application works as a major communication channel among teachers, students, and administration. Through it, students receive homework, project details, examination schedules, notices, and important updates. Several classrooms are equipped with smart boards, allowing teachers to combine explanation with multimedia materials. The campus has Wi-Fi access, modern computer laboratories, and updated software and hardware. Our seminar and conference hall supports workshops, guest lectures, presentations, and academic interactions. For parents, we use an SMS notification system to share attendance, results, and official information.
What are the key academic strengths, facilities, and student-focused services that make Triton SS & College a preferred choice for Plus Two learners?
The first attraction is our balanced academic environment. We have well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories where Science students can connect theory with experiment. We also have computer laboratories and a hotel management training lab for Management students who choose practical electives. Our faculty members are experienced, qualified, and dedicated. Many bring both academic and professional exposure, and we also emphasize regular training and academic discipline. For students preparing for competitive futures, Triton conducts pre-medical and pre-engineering preparation classes alongside the regular NEB curriculum. We follow a systematic evaluation process through unit tests and terminal examinations, so progress is monitored throughout the year. Beyond academics, students benefit from a library, clean canteen, sports facilities, hostel, transport, and basic medical support. We also offer scholarships for high GPA achievers, entrance toppers, district and provincial toppers, talented sportspersons, and economically disadvantaged students.
Since Plus Two lays the foundation for a student’s higher education and career, what specific initiatives does Triton SS & College take to guide students toward achieving their academic and professional aspirations?
We view Plus Two as a foundation for higher education and professional life. Therefore, our support goes beyond textbooks. Students aspiring to medicine, nursing, engineering, and related fields receive entrance-focused preparation. Management students gain practical exposure through accounting activities, business-related learning, and hotel management practice. Because the same campus also offers TU-affiliated bachelor’s programmes such as BCA, BBS, and BSW, students can continue their academic journey without losing institutional familiarity. At the postgraduate level, MBS is also available. Our scholarship schemes help ensure that financial limitations do not stop deserving students.
At the crossroads after SEE, students often face uncertainty about which subject to pursue. How should they identify the right stream that matches their interest, ability, and future career goals?
Students should understand that Plus Two is not a race to follow friends. Nepal mainly offers Science, Management, Humanities, and Law at this level. The first factor should be genuine interest; the second should be academic capacity, including SEE performance. Students interested in physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, agriculture, or research may choose Science. Those attracted to business, accounts, economics, organisations, computers, or hospitality may select Management. Humanities suits students interested in society, communication, development, psychology, or public issues. Law is suitable for those who want to move toward advocacy, justice, governance, and public service. Parents must avoid forcing children into streams. A student who studies with interest and capacity performs far better than one who studies under pressure.
As students and parents stand at this important turning point after SEE, what final guidance would you offer them for selecting a Plus Two college that truly supports learning, growth, and future success?
I warmly congratulate all SEE graduates and their families. While selecting a college, look beyond advertisements. Choose an institution that is reasonably close to home so commuting does not reduce study time. Compare fees carefully and select a college with transparent, moderate costs. Study the faculty, because experienced and accessible teachers shape learning more than buildings alone. Check whether the college has discipline, laboratories, classrooms, a library, counselling, examinations, and regular communication with parents. Parent-college meetings should be real, not symbolic. At Triton SS & College, we are committed to affordable quality education, strong academic pathways, technological support, and student-centred guidance. We believe education should prepare learners not only for examinations, but also for citizenship, responsibility, professionalism, and lifelong learning. For us, every learner matters; every classroom must encourage curiosity, discipline, ethics, communication, and practical confidence, because meaningful education finally proves itself through character, competence, and social contribution in the changing context of Nepal. I wish every student a confident, thoughtful, and successful Plus Two journey ahead.
