The inauguration of Nepal School Mela Online Quiz Contest had been graced by Tikaram Puri , Central Chairman of Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON). The inauguration of the quiz contest was held on 23rd Jestha through ZOOM Live-webinar.
Mr. Kumar Ghimire, General Secretary of PABSON addressed the welcome speech and the program was presided over by Deepika Rimal Thapa, Coordinator of Nepal School Mela and Central Vice President of PABSON whereas RB Adhikari, Central Member of HISSAN hosted the program.
Hit round of the competition will be held on the 24th; play-off game on the 25th and 26th; and the semifinal and grand finale on the 27th Jestha, 2078. The organizing committee informed that the program would be conducted every day from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Although application forms have been registered from more than 200 schools, only 130 students studying in class 9 and 10 and students who are waiting for the result of SEE have been qualified in the hit round.
Speaking through ZOOM live-webinar, the chief guest of the program, Tikaram Puri expressed that since the students would not only learn from the online platform, the extra-curricular activities should also showcase the talents of the students. Saying that defeat and victory are not the only big things; participation is the first victory, Mr. Ritu Raj Sapkota, Central Chairman of N-PABSAN, encouraged the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeetendra Ghimire, CEO of College Readers and Nepal School Mela, said that the program was organized with the objective of showcasing the inherent talents of the students.
Kumar Ghimire, General Secretary of PABSON said that even yesterday, they were conducting various programs through online platforms. He informed that it has been essential to conduct such activities through online.
Mr. Arjun Chapagain, Quiz Master of this program, openly praised College Readers that has organized the Nepal School Meal online Quiz Contest in such a pandemic situation.
Anyone conducts the program at the easy time; we are very happy to be able to organize the quiz competition through online platform for the first time even in difficult times; said Deepika Rimal Thapa.
This online quiz contest through Zoom can be watched live from the official Facebook page of Nepal School Mela- https://www.facebook.com/NepalSchoolMela. The first-place winner will be awarded Rs 25,000; second place winner Rs 15,000 and third place winner Rs 10,000. It is also informed that consolation prizes will be given to three persons at the rate of Rs 3,000 each. Participation certificates will be provided.
