Pokhara: Fishtail Academy situated at Birauta, Pokhara-17, which has been providing quality education in Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province, for nearly three decades has stepped forward in facilitating international standard physical infrastructure.
Chinu Ranabhat, the Founder Director of Fishtail, who has observed from the very beginning that many children go to Kathmandu and various cities in India for quality education at school level, wanted to stop them in Pokhara and create an academic atmosphere for an international standard education. As he has seen abundant opportunities in schools in developed countries, he has been built physical infrastructures by investing one billion rupees on land he bought 15 years ago.
His dream and concept to make Fishtail as fresher and taller than Machhapuchchhre has now come true. With the new academic plan, he is now operating with a new concept.
He has been trying to make Fishtail stand as a center of excellence in providing life skill and IT based education along with the courses prescribed by the government. Bhat added that as Fishtail Academy has brought competent and trained human resources from Kathmandu and abroad, he requested all the guardians and students not to take any doubts in enhancing quality education. He also said that the school administration had been working on the management of progressive education and the corresponding teaching and learning resources.
This is the first time the huge amount has been invested in school from private sector in Gandaki Province. An academic and administrative building has been constructed on 18 ropanis of land in Birauta. Almost everything is final except final decoration. In addition, a playground has been constructed on 22 ropanis of land where International level competitions can also be conducted.
There are air-conditioned, well-furnished and spacious classrooms where students feel comfortable. According to the international standards, there will be only 30 students in a classroom. All classrooms are smart and digitally equipped. A modern style library has been built for students to use for course books and additional knowledge in which the e-library is separate. Ranabhat said that a well-equipped hall has also been constructed at the bottom for additional activities and seminars. Facilities for science, computer and other thematic learning are being constructed. Rooms have been prepared by importing materials from outside the country. Separate computer labs have been set up for senior and junior level students. Quality education requires quality food. For this, Fishtail has built a restaurant with an open kitchen that can accommodate more than 400 students.
Fishatail Academy is at the forefront school in Nepal in producing players. Many national volleyball players are Fishtail products. Now, Fishtail has invested heavily in sports in a new style structure. There is a mini Olympic shaped swimming pool as well as a separate swimming pool for children with hot water as needed.
The school administration believes that disable students can feel comfortable to come and go due to the disability-friendly infrastructures to reach every floor and room as well as the lift and the open ladder accordingly. There will be a separate room for health desk where experienced health staff will be managed. The modern-style earthquake-resistant school building also has underground parking.
‘The school has aimed to launch higher education in the days to come’, informed Chinu Ranabhat, Founder Director.
