Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology is a newly proposed university by the Government of Nepal. The university will be located in Chitlang of Makwanpur district. The base for the university’s establishment was set during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal in 2019.
It will be established in the area of 740 Ropanis. The University will be established in commemoration of the late communist leader Madan Bhandari referred to as people’s leader, as an inception to fabricate current Nepal with the assistance of logical research and advancements of innovations. Leader Bhandari died in a car accident at Dasdhunga, Chitwan, on May 16, 1993, of which the cause of death is still unknown.
The Parliament passed the proposal seeking deliberation on the Madan Bhandari Science and Technology University Bill-2076 in August 2019. A team of technicians from China also conducted a field study in October at Chitlang Makwanpur to construct the university.
