Orchid College is a well-recognized and leading academic institute in the eastern region of Nepal which was established in 2056 BS as Orchid Public Secondary School. After a decade of its establishment the college commenced its ten-plus-two programs. The Orchid College/ Public Secondary School is located at Sansarimaisthan, Biratnagar.
The college has been established and managed by a group of long experienced academic professionals with an objective of providing quality and value-based education. Our goal is to produce good citizens by inculcating a sense of responsibility, patriotism and social awareness among our students. The institution primarily focuses on preparing competent and trustworthy citizens for facing the challenges of a new Nepal. Currently, it offers 10+2 curricula of Science and Management, particularly Computer Science and Hotel Management.
The college is rich in physical infrastructure. It has modern buildings with spacious and well-furnished classrooms. It has 20 rooms for theory classes, 6 rooms for practical and other rooms for administrative purpose. There is a provision of CCTV camera in every class and ground. Besides, the college has ultra-modern laboratories, well-stocked library, auditorium hall and cafeteria with hygienic food items.
The college is genuinely an ideal academic platform for quality and proactive education. It has maintained stimulating and supporting atmosphere. The institution has adopted participatory and project-based teaching and learning approach. For the purpose of creativity, effective learning, simulations, remedial classes, group discussion, educational tours and project based techniques and audio visual classes have been implemented. Parents and teachers’ interaction is taken as one of the crucial measures in order to boost up students’ learning capacity.
The college has own recognition in the field of extra-curricular activities. We focus on exposing the hidden talents of students and organize various games and sports, such as football, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, etc. The remarkable outcome of Orchid in sports has already been reflected as its students have won several medals and prizes, i.e. the first prize (LED Set worth Rs 37000) and the second prize, (Vacuum Cleaner worth Rs 12000) in health and sanitation competition conducted by Biratnagar Metropolis in 2075 BS.
Reasonable and affordable fee structure, regular evaluation of students through monthly and periodic exams, spacious and comfortable classrooms, provision of qualified and dedicated faculty teachers, frequent psychological stimulation to students by experts, regular consultation with parents regarding the problems of students and additional tutorial classes for weak students are invaluable privileges for students that are rare in other institutions.
Currently, there are more than 1000 students in ten-plus-two programs, 360 in science and 650 in management stream.

The chief aspiration of Orchid is to make its students competent in their respective field so they can cope with any problems easily. The strength of the college lies in its congenial and enriching atmosphere which plays a crucial role in maintaining the excellent record which the college is renowned for.
