Ed Mark College celebrates its heyday amid felicitation of TU Topper, Manjila Tripathi

Manjila Tripathi of Ed-Mark College has successfully secured the highest position in the 4th Year Examinations Results of Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS). She secured 85.50% and was declared the Nepal Topper. Ed-Mark College organized a felicitation program on Friday at Hotel Mystic Buddha, Swayambhu to felicitate the students who passed BBS examinations and exchange happiness and greetings amid the students and college staff.

The Chief Guest of the program, the TU Exam Controller, Pusparaj Joshi, Special Guest, Assistant Exam Controller Bishnu Wagle, College Management Committee Chairperson, Purushottam Adhikari and College Principal, Shiva Prasad Adhikari handed over the certificates to the outstanding students, Manjila Tripathi (TU Topper), Niroj Gadtuala, Riteshkumar Jha and Shila Khatiwada. Similarly, the outstanding student of the college, Shalina Shrestha was also awarded an appreciation letter for winning a silver medal in the 13th SAG Girls’ Volleyball Category.

At the ceremony, the Chief Guest, Mr. Joshi congratulated Ed-Mark College, which is the biggest college in terms of the number of enrollees in private sector affiliated to Tribhuvan University that secured the highest position in making students pass the exam. He wished all the awardees all the luck with their future endeavors. The Special Guest, Bishnu Wagle expressed that the students should be creators of jobs rather than seekers so that they could provide a wealth of job opportunities to others. The college Principal, Shiva Prasad Adhikari congratulated all the successful students and urged them to move ahead with hard work and dedication.

There was good participation of college staff/teachers and students in the program. In the second part of the program, some college students added the aura of amusement by singing and dancing.

As many as 22 hundred students including grades eleven, twelve, bachelor and master level are studying at Ed-Mark College.

Did you ever think you would acquire such stratospheric position in the BBS exams results? How are you feeling after securing the apex level of position?

I was not sure I would top the BBS examinations, but surely I did work hard to achieve it. When I came to know that I had scored 85.50% and had been declared the topper of TU, My happiness increased by leaps and bounds.

Who do you give the compliments for your achievement?

I would like to give all the compliments to teachers and college because this success is the upshot of my solo efforts rather it has been possible with the foundational support of the college. They helped me achieve excellence in academic career with overall personality development.

How did your college teachers assist you in preparing for the BBS examinations?

Teachers encouraged me to set higher standards; as a result, I eventually earned the title of BBS at the end of the education. Inspiring teaching methods, new ideas and friendly classroom environment made a huge difference in the preparation.

How did your parents help you in preparing for the exam?

My parents have always supported and pushed me forward and encouraged me to study and did everything to give me all the necessary education for my future success. There was no pressure from my parents in order for scoring better marks.

How many hours did you devote to studies in a day?

There was no such a rigid timetable. With full concentration and determination, I devoted myself into study which was more enough than reading continuously for all day. However, I managed to separate 2 to 3 hours to revise and recall the topic taught in the college.

How did you resolve your doubts and ambiguities?

While studying, I came across various vague terms and ambiguities. Generally, I tried to solve myself by understanding the statement, reading it twice or thrice and refining to illustration and other books. If I couldn’t, then I further consulted the respective teachers.

How did you use technology in preparing for the examinations?

Teaching has been essential part of my learning. I referred Google for presentation and writing papers. Even for various management terminologies, various theories and examples, and supporting theories, I preferred web-based learning. Via Google and Wikipedia, I read various national and international articles which helped expand my knowledge.

Which career do you want to pursue and why?

Growing up in a business family gave me a new experience. At young age, I had unique opportunity to gain an early understanding of business and grew to love the business and its contribution. So, I decided to pursue my career as an industrialist. The reason I would like to be an industrialist is because the economy of Nepal is heavily dependent on import of basic materials and on foreign markets for its forest and agricultural products. Establishment of industry reduces trade defects, encourages export and contributes to economic growth of Nepal.

What advice would you give to students as tips for the best preparation of examinations?

The piece of advice I would like to give to students who are appearing the examinations is to study thoroughly and know the syllabus well. Develop positive outlook and accept the setbacks. Have healthy diet because a healthy mind succeeds in examinations.
