Apollo International College, established in 2010 AD, is located in the heart of capital city Kathmandu, New Baneshwor and has been running its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Insurance (BBA-BI) and Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) programs affiliated to Pokhara University. AIC aims to produce professional managers with sound conceptual foundation and practical skills in various areas of Business. AIC has been managed by competent and dedicated professionals and academicians who possess valuable experience in educational field. AIC has a vision and mission which motivates it to leap forward by imparting quality education to aspiring students. How is Apollo imparting education to the students to heighten their acquisition level?
AIC has a team of dedicated faculty members with diverse academic and research backgrounds to deal with academic issues. AIC aims to develop leadership skills, creativity and entrepreneurship in the students to prepare them to face the future challenges of business. We believe in student-centered teaching-learning methodology. Its teaching methodology is based on application of modern equipment and real life experiences. It is managed through updated teaching-learning techniques that involve active classroom participation, interaction between students and faculties, workshops and report writings. We always adhere to quality enhancement through a range of activities like group discussion, class participation, guest lectures, audio-visual aids, projects and presentation, field trips and excursions, internship, workshop, etc.
How is the condition of employability of the graduates of Apollo International College?
We have produced five batches in BBA and the eighth semester of BBA-BI is running. We introduced BHM program last year. We have a number of students performing well being in the dean’s list every year. The employability of our graduates is very impressive. The regular passed out students are properly involved in the reputed jobs and posts. None of our graduates are sitting awkwardly being unemployed. Most of the students are involved in banking, corporate, finance sectors and some are holding their own business firms.
What about the distinct features of Pokhara University vis-à-vis management sector?
Pokhara University has higher quantity of students after Tribhuvan University. The relationship and coordination of the university with the private affiliated colleges is very impressive. There are quite a lot of improvements in the examination system of the university. The university has full trust and faith towards the colleges running specialized courses. The university offers those programs which are saleable in the global market.
In spite of many features of the university, what other possible improvements should be made in the management sector?
The university should focus more on the improvements of the examination system. The faculty members should be provided with proper training and seminars for the updated syllabus. There must be the evaluation and supervision system from the dean office about the performance and activities of the colleges. There must be the proper flow of information from the colleges and the dean offices.
What suggestion would you give students wishing to pursue higher education in an outstanding college?
First of all, the students should know about the university, colleges before getting enrollment. Similarly, they should also be familiar with the course content, fee structures before choosing any subjects or any colleges. Bachelor level studies are related to career pursuits, so, the students of this level should be sanguine to figure out their rewarding careers. Moreover, the students should understand and be up-to-date about their preferred subjects and colleges. Apollo International College provides merit based scholarship to the students as per their need and capacities. Most of the enrollees of our college are top graduates who possess a range of prospects of their promising careers. Our all programs—BBA, BBA-BI and BHM—are impressive and empirical.
