Shikshalaya gives away landslides of educational awards

The 15th Wai Wai National Award, organized at Russian Culture by Shikshalaya monthly educational magazine, has honored dozens of personalities who made remarkable contributions in the arena of education across the country. The former Prime Minister and Chairperson of Nepal Communist Party— Puspa Kamal Dahal — gave away more than a dozen awards at the program. As many as 16 people were honored with the prestigious awards.

‘Best Teacher Award’ was presented to Gopaldhwaj Shrestha of Hanumanteshwor Secondary School, Dolakha; ‘Best Student Award’ to Sabina Subedi of Kalika Secondary School; ‘Rising Award’ to Samridhi Education Foundation, Bhaktapur; and ‘Creative College Award’ to NCCS, Pakwanjol, Kathmandu. Likewise, ‘Contribution Award’ was provided to NCE Nepal whereas ‘Education Journalist Award’ was presented to Rabindra Parajuli of Nepal Television and Gopal Sangraula of Karobar Dainik.

In the same row, Khagendra Nepal, joint secretary of Nepal Government was awarded ‘Dedication Award’; Man Bahadur Budha of Gorkha Education Group, Dang was felicitated with ‘Educationist Award’; Ranjana Pradhan of Nightingale Education Foundation was presented ‘Principal of the Year Award’; Oxford College of Engineering and Management, Gaindakot was honored with ‘Goodwill Achievement Award’; Global College of Management for ‘Excellence Award’, Janajyoti Secondary School, Surkhet for ‘School of the Year Award’ in the community-based school category, and New Horizon School, Rupandehi was given ‘School of the Year Award’ in the category of institutional organization.

At the ceremony, Bala Nanda Poudel was honored with ‘Education Vision Award’, Shanta Chaudhary for ‘Inspirational Award’ and Educationist Ratna Man Gurung was felicitated with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Addressing the session, former Prime Minister Mr. Dahal expressed that everyone should take interest in academic development so that we together can give the country a new height. The Chief Editor of Shikshyalaya— Shyam Tandukar expressed his view on extending the boundary of such national education awards to the international arena. The program witnessed a massive number of participants along with a Lower House parliamentarian, Nawaraj Silwal.
