IOE Examination: PEA repeats its historic winning

As many as 97 students conquer IoE entrance examination from PEA this year

PEA, the leading and biggest engineering entrance preparation institution in Nepal, has been preparing the students for engineering entrance preparation for a long time. The institution prepares students so painstakingly that they are sure to conquer the entrance examination conducted by Institute of Engineering (IoE). Since its beginning, it has been able to give more than 97% results every year. This year, 97 students have succeeded in doing well in the IoE entrance. The IoE has a quota of 100 students annually. Pratik Dahal, a plus two graduate from Bishnu Memorial School, Dharan has topped the list of engineering examinees of IoE entrance examination. Likewise, Rahul Kumar Jha, a plus two graduate from Liverpool International College and Biraj Pandey, a plus two graduate from SOS, Bhaktapur have been successful in bagging the 2nd and 3rd position in the entrance exam respectively. Aayushma Baral, a plus two graduate from SOS Pokhara has topped among the girls taking the same exam. All these successful hopefuls had chosen PEA for their entrance preparation.

Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering (IOE) has published the entrance examination results for the enrollment in its various constituent and affiliated colleges for BE/B.Arch. programs. The entrance examination was held on 21st -30th Shrawan 2076. A total of 7,000 examinees conquered the entrance examination. 

There are a total of 10 affiliate and four constituent colleges under the IOE. A total of 1872 seats are available for Eastern Regional Campus, Pulchowk Campus, Thapathali Campus and Western Regional Campus. Private engineering colleges provide 2304 seats for Civil, Computer, Electronics Communication & Information, Electrical and Architecture.

The affiliated colleges follow different procedures for enrollments. And the list consists of Kantipur Engineering College, Kathmandu Engineering College, Himalaya College of Engineering, Advanced College of Engineering and Management, National College of Engineering, Kathford International College of Engineering and Management, Janakpur Engineering College, Khwopa Engineering College, Lalitpur Engineering College and Sagarmatha Engineering College.

The results have opened the door for admission in Computer, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Communication & Information and Electrical of BE including B. Arch in various IOE constituent and affiliated engineering colleges under scholarship or self-funded scheme. Moreover, Pulchowk Campus admission procedure is based on the entrance examination.

Top 100 students were honored at the felicitation program organized by PEA. Speaking at the program, Er. Dilli Raman Niraula, President of Nepal Engineering Council, urged the students to go ahead taking the responsibility of making the country prosperous which is the dream of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. He added that he himself had visited and monitored IoE Exam Entrance at Pulchowk which he found serene. He also advised students not to forget the contributions of their parents and teachers while achieving such height of excellence. He insisted on focusing on studies, rejecting political involvement during their study. In addition, he also informed that all engineering graduates, upon completing their formal qualification, should acquire an engineering license, which is in the process of implementation.

The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. SK Mishra who is the Chairman of PEA. He said Pulchowk Engineering Campus is the best destination for engineering education. He further added that the students should work more diligently after getting admission in BE. Sanat Giri, Principal at PEA delivered a welcome speech whereas the program was conducted by an associate professor, Dr. Vinod Prajuli, who is the board member of Tribhuwan University.

On the basis of students’ successes (100 students) in IoE entrance examination, St. Xavier College has been successful in helping 13 students pass the entrance examination, which is the highest number, followed by Kathmandu Model Secondary School (KMC) with 11 students, and Valmiki Secondary School, Chitwan has helped 6 students conquer the entrance examination, securing the third position. Likewise, National School of Sciences (NIST) made five students pass the entrance examination.

The PEA had provided laptop to top three students as veneration to their perseverance and rigor. Similarly, it had conducted mock tests at various engineering colleges and the toppers were provided laptops by the respective colleges as motivation.

Thousands of career hopefuls embark on unlocking the padlock of the toughest exam for the engineering education in Nepal every year.
