Canadian Ambassador to Trek Everest Base Camp to Promote Bilateral Relationship

Aiming at bringing two million tourists in Nepal on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year-2020, Nepal Tourism Board has started its branding and promotion globally by organizing various programs.

On this part of celebration, Canadian Ambassador to Nepal Nadir Patel has announced his trek to Everest Base Camp from April 5, which has added one more brick to promote Visit Nepal Year. Today, he left to Everest Base Camp with his team for trekking. His trekking to Everest Base Camp is not only to brand the visit year but also to promote bilateral relationship.

“The announcement of Canadian Ambassador to Nepal Nadir Patel’s trek to Everest Base Camp is really a significant event which will immensely promote Nepal’s tourism sector in Canada”, said Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board. “We need more events to reach our destination”, he added.

“About 14000 Canadians visit Nepal every year. My trip to Everest Base Camp will encourage and motivate other Canadians”, said ambassador Patel at a press meet. He added, “This short visit to Nepal of two weeks will make a genuine commitment to the country and contribute to promote and strengthen the relations and promote the country”.

Ambassador Patel’s wife started her trekking in 2012 and she trekked around the world. He also got a chance to trek some places with her in the world. “Inspired with my wife, I have been motivated to trek”, said ambassador Patel adding “I will possibly go up to the mountain to see more spectacular view of Mount Everest”.
